George Odio: Owner

George Odio moved to the Alexandria area in 1987. Since that time, he has been known in the community as an advocate that promotes healthy lifestyles. George and his wife Chris own and operate several Subway Sandwich shops in the Central Minnesota area. He assisted in coaching the junior high and high school Nordic ski team for twelve years. He also enjoys instructing spin classes and helping people of all ages with strength training programs at the local health clubs.

Over the years, George has been highly involved in the bicycling community. He has organized, sponsored, and participated in several competitive and non-competitive events. Many of the young cyclists that he has coached have gone on to compete at both the national and international level.

Being born in Cuba and fleeing that country during the early Castro years, George feels fortunate to be a United States citizen and part of the Alexandria community. Their three sons have all worked in the family business over the years and when the Bike and Fitness Company was up for sale three years ago, it was an easy decision to purchase it. In late 2008, George and Chris' oldest son, George Jr. and his wife Claudia, joined the team at the Bike and Fitness Company. They work and manage the business on a full-time basis.

George Jr. competed in BMX racing, mountain biking and participated in the Junior Nationals for cycling in the road race event.

Both Chris and Claudia enjoy recreational bike riding and take advantage of the wonderful Central Lakes Bike Trail that runs through the Alexandria area.
